Hello friends
this is my last project for this challenge,
however it's not the end of my playing in this genre
you will be seeing more of my experimentation
as I have joined into another challenge and also some classes
more about that later.
Today I wish to thank the hosts of this challenge,
world renowned  mixed media artists
DeeDee Catron & Jenn Engles
who are celebrating their anniversary

My 5 x 7 project #8  was inspired by the the church door, the hanging leaves
the colour green &  the black/white fabric.

' Today I give thanks to everyone who has been part of  my life's journey'

Hello friends,
I know I keep repeating myself however I am enjoying
this whole process of playing in a new to me media,
I have been scrapbooking & card making for a number of years
however haven't really played in the 'art' genre for some time.
The variety of colours & textures inspired by the mood board
 certainly gets the mind wandering.
Thankyou to DeeDee Catron & Jenn Engles
who are the hosts of this challenge,
they are world renowned  mixed media artists
who are celebrating their anniversary

My 5 x 5 project #7  was inspired by the picture of the raspberries & also the yellow flower
I painted the background in pink, then swirled wet glue covered it with embossing powder & hit with the heat gun which added some extra bubbles to the swirls
imitating the texture of the fruit. My large metal & smaller flowers
were also embossed with a golden yellow. The dream tile is from my stash & I found the quote on the net.

thank you for popping into my blog
Today I'm sharing with you a
created with papers from the
LAVANDE collection from
Purples, mauves, lilac & lavender are not colours I work with often
however this range certainly managed to get my creative juices working

The frame was a plastic one bought from a bargain store,
I painted with gesso, then rubbed with inka golds in purple & silver.
I fussy cut the floral heart & adhered it to a heart shaped doily,
A spray of flowers, a sprinkle of glitter, metal 'LOVE' title & a quote:
' the best & most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched-
they must be felt with the heart.'
completes my project.

Again thanks for popping by my blog
 your comments  are heart-warming

Helloooo !!!
I am sharing another piece for the challenge
this mood board
hosted by renowned mixed media artists
DeeDee Catron & Jenn Engles
to celebrate their anniversary
certainly  makes me put my thinking cap on

I have gone with colours & threads inspired by the plus sign fabric
texture paste, water colours, embossing powder, beads & chenille thread wound onto a cut down wooden cotton reel  created the piece which was then coated with gloss medium ...
This was an interesting playtime as I made a few unexpected bubbles
which actually added to the texture ... Sadly :(  my lettering didn't quite work out
Oh well serves me right for rushing...
Quote reads:
'LOVE is the thread that binds us together'
truly i am enjoying my learning curves in this wonderful world of creativity
 Enjoy the process
Have fun

Hello there
I am continuing to play in the challenge hosted by renowned mixed media artists
DeeDee Catron & Jenn Engles
to celebrate their anniversary

Today I'm sharing my #5 take on the mood board inspired by
the blue door & worn paint

I'm not really happy with this however we are our own worst enemies
in the process of these challenges I am enjoying the learning of using different mediums
all learning is good ... even if it's a disaster LOL!!!

I have used texture paste, water colour paints & pencils,
gloss medium, matt medium, metals with inka gold
My quote reads:
' Realize that if a door closed it's because what was behind it wasn't meant for you'

This challenge is absolutely so much fun,
great variety of colours &textured images to be inspired by
you can just let your mind wander, grab your colours & let the creative juices flow
I really never imaginedcreating like this
I thought I'd just have a dabble
now I'm itching to get other projects done so I can play....
the challenge hosted by renowned mixed media artists
DeeDee Catron & Jenn Engles
to celebrate their anniversary

this piece was inspired by the stormy clouds on the second row
and the tree on bottom row

I started with clear gesso, smeared with Stamperia Crackle medium
then painted the background with water colour paints
The wooden tree I roughly painted with black & brown to add light & shade
 I love this quote:

' Trees which endure the stormiest of times grow the strongest and most beautiful, ditto how your stormy times can encourage you to thrive and bloom into your mightiest you.'

using Fiona Paltridge stamp set & also on the base of my card
The quote came from online ..
